3.3.2 The File Section

Use this section to specify the full path name of a system file that the Mail Monitor will scan.

3.3.2.1 General Rules for Files

• If a file is not found, Mail Monitor produces a Monitor record.

3.3.2.2 Values for File Checks

• Maximum_512Blocks=value

  The maximum number of 512-byte blocks for the file.

• Severity=error_level

  The severity level for a problem, as defined in the note at the beginning of Section 3.3.

Note that you can have more than one [File] section for a single file, with increasing error levels set for increasing file size.

The following example uses the file /sbin/init.d /namon030 with the number of blocks set to 10,000 and the severity level set to 4 (fatal error):
