The Mail User Agent Server [.DMP] directory is scanned for files
giving the number of bad messages. Also, message counters for the
following items are issued using the MUAS API:
- Locally delivered messages (including messages and
delivery reports and receipts).
- Remote posted messages (including messages, probes and
delivery reports and receipts).
- Remote fetched messages (including messages, probes and
delivery reports and receipts).
The scanning module produces a Monitor record for each counter.
