The scanning module checks these files and records, and if they do not exist the scanning module produces a Monitor record:

The scanning module also checks for the MB$$MRG_STOPF file and the MESSAGE*.NBS file in the MRG$DIR directory and produces a Monitor record if either file does not exist. Even if the MB$$MRG_STOPF file exists, the scanning module produces a Monitor record.
