1.2.4 Corrupted Configuration Files

Occasionally the configuration files might be corrupted and this will result in unexpected behaviour. For example:

In these cases you need to replace the corrupted configuration files, or start the client without configuration files and let Mail Monitor create new ones (losing any customizations you have made).

It is recommended that you save the configuration files regularly, especially if you have customized the files. The following table specifies the configuration files:
DIGITAL UNIX Configuration Files   OpenVMS Configuration Files
$HOME(/)   SYS$LOGIN:
.namon_workspace.res   namon_workspace.res
.namon_profile.ini   namon_profile.ini
namon_client.ini   namon_ client.ini

You may also save these files in a backup directory once you have configured the client to suit your requirements.

To create backup files, select Save Workspace from the File menu. When you next start Mail Monitor, the .ini files are backed up in .old files. That is, "namon_profile.ini" is backed up as "namon_profile.old", and "namon_client.ini" is backed up as "namon_client.old".
