A password needs to be defined, either during the Windows NT installation procedure or by editing the initialization file itself (regardless of operating system). Note that, if you have installed the Control module on a Windows NT server, the password you specified during installation is stored in plain text in the initialization file; if you do not need to change the password, there is no need to edit the initialization file.
As there is no default value for this password, before you can
use the Control module on an OpenVMS or DIGITAL UNIX server (or
on a Windows NT system if you chose not to provide a password
during installation), you must define a password by editing the
[Configuration]
section in the initialization file. On
any operating system, you can also modify the password by editing
the initialization file.
Note that you can run commands simultaneously on different servers.
