3.3.1 The Process Section

Use this section to specify the name of the process that the Mail Monitor will scan.

3.3.1.1 General Rules for Processes

The following general rules apply to all scanning modules:

• If a process is running, Mail Monitor produces a Process record with status information.

• If a process is not running, Mail Monitor produces a Monitor record.

3.3.1.2 Values for Process Checks

• Full_Name=name

  Description of the process, that is, the full name of the process.

• Severity=error_level

  The severity value that Mail Monitor returns after checking for the process. as defined in the note at the beginning of Section 3.3.

• Check_File=filename

  The name of the file that must exist for the process to be checked. This file acts as a flag; if the file exists, the process is checked.

• Process_name=name

  A name that overrides the process name used in the section title.

The following example refers to the TM_SERVER process and includes the full name of the process and shows the severity level is 2 (warning):
