Appendix D
Obsolete Command Qualifiers and Configuration Logicals

To simplify DECdfs operation, Compaq removed some qualifiers that were present in earlier versions of DECdfs, as follows:

If you attempt to use an obsolete qualifier, DECdfs accepts the command but does not set the requested qualifier. DECdfs does not return an error message with any obsolete qualifiers except for SET SERVER /PERSONA_CACHE=blocks_threshold.

Note

Removing the /SESSIONS_MAXIMUM and /CONNECTIONS_MAXIMUM command qualifiers eliminates limitations set by these qualifiers. However, the following DECnet commands limit the number of connections:

For DECnet Phase IV:

NCP> SET/DEFINE EXECUTOR MAXIMUM LINKS integer

For DECnet Phase V:

NCL> SET NODE [node-id] NSP MAXIMUM TRANSPORT CONNECTIONS integer

Compaq also removed two logicals from DFS$CONFIG.COM, as follows:

If you accidentally define these logicals, DECdfs ignores them.
