For example, if you look at the reference pages for the ds_*( ) functions, you will see that an object of class DS_C_NAME is required to hold entry names you want to pass to the call, not DS_C_DS_DN as is stated in this topic. However, DS_C_NAME is in fact an abstract class with only one subclass, DS_C_DS_DN, so in this topic, DS_C_DS_DN is used.
