A.3.3 代替コンソールの選択

DECwindows Motif ソフトウェアでは，メイン・コンソールからすべての構成をブートすることができます。オペレータ・ウィンドウを表示するかしないかは Ctrl/F2で切り替えることができます。メイン・コンソールは常にワークステーションの画面です。

メイン・コンソール(ワークステーション画面)にログインしている場合， DECwindowsを起動する前にログアウトする必要があります。メイン・コンソールから次のコマンドを実行してください。 


$
@SYS$MANAGER:DECW$STARTUP

コマンド・プロシージャが完了したあと，メイン・コンソールからログアウトします。ログアウトしない場合は，サーバは起動せず，ログイン・ボックスは表示されません。

ターミナル・ポート経由でワークステーションに接続したターミナルを代替コンソールとして使用することができます。

メイン・コンソールからブートした場合， DECwindows Motifスタートアップ・コマンド・プロシージャを起動した際に代替コンソールに接続されます。

代替コンソールからシステムをブートする場合，コンソール・ウィンドウ・アプリケーションを起動することはできません。このアプリケーションについては，リリース・ノートに説明があります。

A.3.4 デスクトップの選択

OpenVMS Alphaシステムの場合， DECwindows Motif には， 2種類のデスクトップのオプションがあります。 CDE (共通デスクトップ環境) から派生したNew Desktop および従来のDECwindowsウィンドウです。

インストレーション中に， New Desktop および従来のDECwindowsウィンドウの両方をインストールする選択をした場合，どちらを省略時の設定にするか問い合わせがあります。

省略時の設定としてもう一方のデスクトップを選択する場合は，次の手順を実行してください。

  1. SYS$MANAGER:DECW$PRIVATE APPS SETUP.COM ファイルが存在しない場合は DECW$PRIVATE APPS SETUP.TEMPLATEからコピーします (または，以前のバージョンの DECwindows Motifをシステムにインストールしていない場合は，新規に作成します)。次の例を参照してください。 


    $ COPY SYS$MANAGER:DECW$PRIVATE_APPS_SETUP.TEMPLATE - 
_$ SYS$COMMON:[SYSMGR]DECW$PRIVATE_APPS_SETUP.COM

  2. SYS$MANAGER:DECW$PRIVATE_APPS_SETUP.COMを編集し， DECW$START_NEW_DESKTOPのシンボル定義を追加します。 New Desktop を省略時の設定にしたい場合は，次のグローバル・シンボル定義を入力します。 


    $ DECW$START_NEW_DESKTOP == "TRUE"


    DECwindowsデスクトップを省略時の設定にしたい場合は，次のグローバル・シンボル定義を入力します。 


    $ DECW$START_NEW_DESKTOP == "FALSE"

  3. 次のコマンドを実行して，DECwindowsを再起動します。 


    $ @SYS$MANAGER:DECW$STARTUP RESTART

A.4 DECwindows Motif ソフトウェアの管理

DECwindows Motif 製品のインストレーション後にシステムをチューニングすることにより，システムの性能を向上させ，システム・リソースの消費を低減し，特定のサーバ設定を行うことができます。ここでは， DECwindows Motif 環境の設定について説明します。システム管理についての詳細は，『日本語 DECwindows Motif for OpenVMS 環境設定の手引き』を参照してください。

この節の構成および内容は次のとおりです。

A.4.1 DECwindows X11ディスプレイ・サーバのスタートアップ・プロシージャ

DECwindows X11 ディスプレイ・サーバは，ディスプレイ，キーボード，マウスなどのワークステーションのグラフィックス装置を管理します。スタートアップ・コマンド・プロシージャは， DECwindows X11 ディスプレイ・サーバのほとんどの構成パラメータを自動的に決定します。ただし，次に示すように，コマンド・プロシージャが決定できない項目がいくつかあります。

サーバ・スタートアップ・ファイルを次のように変更することにより，これらのディスプレイ・サーバ設定を指定することができます。

  1. SYS$MANAGER:DECW$PRIVATE_SERVER_SETUP.TEMPLATEファイルのコピーを作成し，それを SYS$MANAGER:DECW$PRIVATE_SERVER_SETUP.COMという名前に変更します。このサーバ・スタートアップ・ファイルに，各ワークステーション用のDCLコマンド部分を追加して，個々のワークステーションを設定する方法を明示します。

  2. サーバ・スタートアップ・ファイルの2つのセクションのいずれかにセットアップ・オプションを追加あるいは変更するためにファイルを編集します。これらのオプションの詳細は，『日本語 DECwindows Motif for OpenVMS 環境設定の手引き』， 『HP DECwindows Motif for OpenVMS Alpha New Features』 ，あるいはファイルそのものを参照してください。 "Cluster Common or Standalone Workstation Setup" セクションに追加したセットアップ・オプションは，クラスタ内のすべてのノードに対して有効となります。 "Cluster Member Workstation-Specific Setup" 部分に追加したセットアップ・オプションは，特定のノードに対してのみ有効となります。ワークステーション固有のオプションを追加した場合は，変数 node_listも変更しなければなりません。

  3. 次のコマンドを使用して，サーバ・スタートアップをカスタマイズしたワークステーション上で DECwindows Motif を再起動します。 


    $ @SYS$MANAGER:DECW$STARTUP RESTART

A.4.2 DECwindows ベース・サポート・ファイル

DECwindows ベース・サポート・ソフトウェアをインストールしなかった場合あるいは削除した場合は， DECwindows Motif をサポートするように指定してオペレーティング・システムを再構成してください。

A.4.2.1 OpenVMS オペレーティング・システムの再構成

DECwindows Motif をサポートするように OpenVMS Alpha オペレーティング・システムを再構成するには， PRODUCT RECONFIGURE コマンドを使用してください。

A.4.3 問題の確認と報告

DECwindows Motifを使用していて問題が発生した場合は，弊社にご連絡ください。保証の詳細については，『ソフトウェア仕様書』で確認してください。保証期間中に問題が発生した場合は，弊社のサポート担当者に連絡してください。

A.5 POLYCENTERソフトウェア・インストレーション・ユーティリティを使用したインストレーション実行例

ここでは， OpenVMS Alpha Version 7.3-2 オペレーティング・システムにおける DECwindows Motif のインストレーション例を示します。

POLYCENTERソフトウェア・インストレーション(PCSI) ユーティリティを使用して DECwindows Motif ソフトウェアをインストールする方法の詳細は， 付録 A.2 節 を参照してください。

ここに示すインストレーション実行例では，省略時のディレクトリを， DECwindows Motif セーブセットと必要な ECO を含むデバイス名とディレクトリに設定していることを想定しています。

A.5.1 OpenVMS Alpha Version 7.3-2 システムにおけるインストレーション例
